5 Tips for Amazing Getting Ready Photos

I have always loved telling stories. Just ask my friends about a certain story I wrote in high school about the five of us (so embarrassing!), but it ignited a passion in me for documenting our lives. In college, during my Journalism studies, I focused so much of my energy on my film photography courses. Even though I was a writer at heart, photography was a way to tell a story with no words and being able to document life with images was such a natural transition. Now that I am a weddingView full post »

Karen + Matt | Married

There was a noticeably calm vibe in the apartment where Karen and her bridesmaids got ready the morning of her wedding. Dresses were hanging, jewellery was laid out, her wedding gown waiting in a quiet upstairs room. Karen let each moment happen with no worries of the ice storm that was beginning to stir outside. Matt was a ball of energy; happiness, excitement and emotions ran through him. He really just couldn’t wait to see Karen walk down the aisle. Their ceremony was stunning, at theView full post »

Sharon and Jared – Camp Trillium Wedding

I cannot put into words how excited i was to photograph Sharon and Jared’s wedding. I love shooting weddings that really tell the story of a couple. Sharon and Jared love the outdoors. They love portaging, camping, hiking, and just getting away from it all and spending time in nature. Their wedding took place at Camp Trillium in Waterford where Sharon works as a camp councillor. Rustic cabins, buffalo plaid, flannel and canoes set the tone for the super relaxed and intimate day.View full post »

Nicole & Paul | Fisherville Wedding

We all woke up to one of the most beautiful days of the entire year. Warm breezes, the leaves just starting to change, and the clouds rolling out to showcase a gorgeous blue October sky. Nicole and Paul were both so relaxed their entire day. From getting ready to walking down the aisle to having fun at the Cayuga Courthouse as we took a million photos! I have never heard a party bus quite that loud before! It was a day full of joy and celebration, and I am so lucky to have been there to captureView full post »

Karen & Paul | Hamilton Golf & Country Club Wedding

I first met Karen and Paul last year when we had coffee at their beautiful home and discussed their September 30th wedding. I was so excited to be chosen as their photographer. They are such a fantastic couple, and I knew right away that their wedding would be a dream come true. I love photographing couples who are authentic and easy going.. not to mention super classic and stylish! I may have added just a few too many photos to this blog post… but every moment of this day was soView full post »

Victoria and Josh – Married!

What an incredible day for these two lovebirds! It was such a pleasure to photograph their engagement session and their wedding day. They are just so in love and are such an amazing team together. We began the day in Simcoe where Josh and Victoria spent the morning getting ready at their parents’ homes, and then travelled to Delhi to the Backstage Capitol. It was such a cool spot for a ceremony! The lighting inside was so dramatic and fun! We then travelled to a friend of the family forView full post »

Kristen and Joel | Glen Drummand Farm Wedding

Kristen and Joel celebrated their wedding day with friends and family at Glen Drummond Farm in Dundas. Their day was absolutely perfect, even though the ceremony was moved from outdoors to in because of rain. As I spent the day documenting their wedding day story, I was often reminded of this quote: “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”  – Mignon McLaughlin Each time Joel looks at Kristen, and each time Kristen looks at Joel, you can see thatView full post »

Amy and Jeff – Married – Royal Botanical Gardens

Getting to know Amy and Jeff was one of the highlights of my summer. I love weddings, and I love getting to know couples and being part of their special day. Amy and Jeff were married at Royal Botanical Gardens and it was the most beautiful ceremony, with Amy’s dad officiating. The ceremony was followed by brunch, which was incredible! Although the day was maybe the hottest of the entire year, we still had lots of fun and got lots of great images!View full post »
